This tennis pick comes from the second round of a WTA Tour event in Rio de Janeiro, where German player Anna-Lena Friedsam meets Kurumi Nara from Japan. The 20-year-old German Anna-Lena Friedsam is a player with nice potential and there is no doubt that she will further improve her ranking this year. She is currently ranked as a world No. 113 but she has already won 10 ITF titles, including four in 2013. Friedsam really is a player on her rise and we wouldn't be surprised if she breaks into the Top 50 this year. She has a powerful style of play with very solid serve, so it isn't surprising that Friedsam prefers playing on hard courts but she is well capable of playing on all surfaces as her power is really enormous. On the other hand Kurumi Nara from Japan is a small player (just 158 cm) who relies on her great movement and consistency. She plays a patient game and tends to edge into the points, gradually increasing the angle and power of her shots and prefers a punishing forehand or volley to close the point out. Nara also considers hard court her favourite surface and as most of the Japanese players has little experience with playing on red clay and limited success on the surface. She defeated Hsieh in the first round but her opponent wasn't 100% fit and the performance was far away from being impressive. If we add that Friedsam and Nara met twice in 2013 with German player winning on both occassions than she must be rated as a clear favourite of the match and we believe that her power will be too much for Nara. For these reasons we recommend you to place a tennis bet on Anna-Lena Friedsam -2 games handicap as the line seems to be pretty low in our eyes.
